Just Do It! Nike Acquires Our Datalogue Friends

We are very excited. Our first client Datalogue (signed in March 2020) just announced it has been acquired by Nike! You can view the press release here.

We want to publicly congratulate Tim Delisle and the Datalogue team for building such a groundbreaking, innovative company — whose team and technology was so good that Nike decided they had to own it.

Tim founded Datalogue with the goal of making data acquisition and data normalization a much easier thing — leveraging AI and machine learning to help accomplish that goal.

We were introduced to Tim before we had even really figured True North out — we were very open with him that Mike, Scott and I wanted to work together to help companies like his, and delighted if he was up for joining us for our journey and our helping him on his and Datalogue’s journey. He took the chance on us, and we jumped at the opportunity to help Tim and his team.

We were enamored with the company, Tim’s vision and drive, and the potential of what they were building. I think we helped Tim and his team work through and crystalize their articulation of their product positioning and differentiation; as well as working with Tim as overall strategic advisors as he built a great company around him.

Datalogue turned out to be a perfect client for us — we felt in many ways an extension of their executive team, helped Tim and his team validate their corporate and go to market strategies, and their refinement of a set of use cases to best focus the company’s efforts and drive engagement with prospective customers.

As Tim graciously summarized, “As a first time founder, it’s critical that you surround yourself with advisors who can get the best out of you. From Mike’s tough love to Jim’s thorough expertise and Scott’s zen outlook on the most complicated problems, the True North team not only became trusted partners but friends in the process. We greatly enjoyed being a sounding board and advisor to Tim and Datalogue as he navigated Datalogue’s sale to Nike. Nike has acquired a great company, team and set of solutions. We at True North bid adieu to our first client, excited with what Tim and his team can do in their new home.
