Getting the Gang together (F2F!)

Last week True North achieved an exciting milestone. We met at a team offsite….face to face!

It is interesting how totally pre pandemic normal activities have become fraught, and as we (slowly) emerge from the pandemic, become exciting but occasionally scary new adventures.

We met F2F for the first time - we started our advisory business in March 2020 - and had a wonderful time figuring out where we want to take the business, thinking through how we further help our clients accelerate to their next levels, and of course having fun just being together.

We met in Austin for 3 days - meeting (and having the occasional cocktail) at Mike’s house (pretty f’ing nice….).   

I think we were all a bit nervous about the pandemic atmospherics of getting together. For most of us, this was our first business trip and first F2F business meeting since the beginning of COVID. 

While we of course are each fully vaccinated, the prospect of what was merely mundane in prehistory - traveling, staying at a hotel, going out to a restaurant, meeting together - caused its own trepidation.  

We all make risk trade-offs during these trying times. We were careful, and the results were exciting for the team.

Most importantly, it was just great fun to get together. We’ve teamed together for a long time, and the reunion aspect was a kick.

We also reaffirmed our basic tenants of our partnership:

• Make meaningful contributions to our clients;

• Have fun;

• Learn groovy new stuff.
